Jump on Board: 40-Day Challenge

Every voice you hear in your head is not from God.  Have you figured that out? Remember we are getting “signals” from the world, our flesh, and even our enemy, the devil.  Plus, we live in a busy, noisy world.  No wonder it takes intentionality on our part to hear God’s voice, especially His whispers.

This week is our “warm up” lap of the 40-Day Challenge.  Take time to gather your tools and get prepared.  You’ll need a Bible, a notebook, some 3×5 notecards (the wirebound version work great) and a copy of  Sometimes He Whispers, Sometimes He Roars: Learning to Hear the Voice of God.

I encourage you to be alert to God’s voice throughout your day and  to carve out some white space to hear Him speak to you each morning.  Your 40-Day Challenge will have greater impact if you have a special place for your “morning launch” (a favorite chair or spot) where you can spend some time listening to God.

Your reading assignment is the Introduction and Chapter One of my book. Click here for a free download of these chapters. Some of you may have a logistical or financial challenge getting the book.  Shoot me an email with your address through the “Contact” tab of my website by Monday.  I’ll select three of you to receive a free (signed) book.

As your “prayer coach” for this challenge, I’ll post a new blog each Monday morning for the next six weeks starting this coming Monday, June 25th.  You can sign up to receive the blog at the bottom of this page if you want to be a regular subscriber.  Or you can simply check my website each Monday morning.

I noticed that over the last few weeks, we’ve had visitors to this website from over thirty countries.  Think about what would happen if we all committed to listening to God’s voice in prayer. Together we could change the world!

And will you join me in praying that before this is over, we’ll find a way to get people interceding for their nations?

won your book while doing a bible study with wendy blight – thanks to both of you! learned about the Proverbs 31 site when speaking with one of my friends. was praying for a Bible study – found the Hebrews one with Wendy, led me to another one of her studies on trials (and was in the midst of a very large one that rocked our home and my marriage), which led me to getting things under control (another Bible study) and was praying for guidance in “hearing God” – won your book and here I am. God IS GOOD!

    Hi Jackie,
I hope the book will give you some practical help as you continue in your prayer journey. It’s clear you have learned to dig deep into God’s Word and find out what a power source it can be….especially when walking through trials! Let me know any tips you have for “hearing God,” since we can all learn from each other! Marilynn
