Remember this: whoever turns a sinner back from the wrong way will save that sinner’s soul from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins (James 5:20 GNT).

Do you long to know that your life on earth makes a difference?  Even children want to discover their purpose.   My husband’s father, the late Dr. Howard Chadwick, served God faithfully as a minister for over seventy years.  He used to encourage our three children to search for their life’s calling.  “Look around you at the needs you see in the world,”  he would tell them.  “Then take an honest look at your own gifts and talents.  Your calling may be found where those two intersect.” Continue reading

When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God…Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God…(Deuteronomy 8:10,11)

Forget!  How many times I say to myself, “Don’t forget to….”  To forget is to fail to remember.  It can also mean “to treat with inattention or disregard.”  Sometimes forgetfulness can have deadly consequences. I once heard the story of a busy doctor who forgot to drop off his tiny infant at day care on his way to work.  Tragically, the  baby was left in his car seat and had perished in the heat by the time the stricken father remembered him.  Continue reading
